England U20 Men's team to face Georgia in second Test

Mark Mapletoft has confirmed his matchday squad for the side’s second fixture against Georgia U20 Men

The second of the uncapped tests takes place at the Avchala Stadium on Wednesday 12th June (15:00 BST kick-off).

England won the opening fixture of the tour with a 31-7 victory over the Junior Lelos in Tbilisi last Friday. 2024 Under-20 Six Nations Player of the Tournament, Northampton Saints’ Henry Pollock, was once again among the tries, as were Oli Spencer, Nathan Michelow, Asher Opoku-Fordjour, and Ioan Jones.

Wednesday’s encounter will represent England’s final warm-up fixture ahead of the 2024 World Rugby U20 Championship taking place in South Africa later this month. The U20 Men’s Six Nations champions will be hoping to continue their strong form as they build towards their opening game of the tournament against Argentina on 29th June.

Mark Mapletoft said: "We're pleased with the team's performance in last week’s fixture against Georgia, but we know there's always room for improvement. The second game of the tour is crucial for us to fine-tune our strategies and ensure every player is ready for the World Rugby U20 Championship.

“Georgia is a very strong opponent, and we're expecting another challenging match. Our focus is on building momentum and cohesion as we approach the tournament."
