Borthwick's six uncapped Summer tourists

Six uncapped players have been called up to Steve Borthwick's squad for England's Summer Tour to Japan and New Zealand.

FIN BAXTER

Position: Prop

Club: Harlequins

Fin Baxter started his rugby journey at the age of five at Cobham RFC and has gone on to represent Harlequins more than 50 times. He progressed through the England age grade system having made his England U18 debut in 2018, as well as captaining the U20 Men in 2021.

An excellent scrummager, Baxter began his career as a tighthead before moving across the front row. Working with the likes of Joe Marler and Adam Jones, Baxter has cemented his position as one of the most promising props in the Premiership and earned himself a start in England A’s 91-5 win over Portugal in February 2023.

OLLIE SLEIGHTHOLME

Club: Northampton Saints

Ollie Sleightholme started playing as a youngster at Northampton Old Scouts, before making his Premiership debut for Northampton Saints in 2018, scoring within 15 seconds of coming on the pitch.

A prolific try-scorer, Sleightholme claimed a chart-topping 14 tries during the 2023/24 regular Premiership season, before crossing in the final to help Saints on their way to a first Premiership title in ten years. He has represented both England U18s and U20s and was called into the senior team in 2021, only for an injury to force him to pull out.

TOM ROEBUCK

Position: Wing

Tom Roebuck started his rugby journey at Chester RUFC at the age of five before joining the Sale Sharks academy. He went on to make his senior debut for the club in the opening match of the Premiership Rugby Cup in October 2018, signing his first senior contract with Sale the following month.

The 2021/22 Premiership season was a breakthrough campaign for him, as a run of six tries in six games in January 2022 cemented his place in Alex Sanderson’s squad.

Roebuck has represented England since the age of 16 when he was first called up to an U17 training camp in February 2018 before graduating to the U18 team that summer. He moved up through the ranks to the U20s and was named as part of the squad for the 2021 U20 Six Nations Championship.
