England Men's U18 side to face Wales

England Men’s U18 head coach Jonathan Pendlebury has named his side to face Wales U18 on Sunday

The game is on Sunday, 26 March (KO 13:00) at Swansea Rugby Football Club.

The Wales fixture follows a close match against France at Esher Rugby Football Club last weekend, from which Pendlebury’s squad took invaluable international experience.

Henry Pollock (openside flanker) will again skipper the side from the backrow alongside Reuben Logan (blindside flanker) and Lucas Schmid (No. 8).

Ralph McEachran and Tye Raymond, with Jacob Oliver at hooker, form a new-look front row. Finn Baker and Jack Bennett are the lock pairing.

Archie McParland starts at scrumhalf, while Rory Taylor and Sean Kerr make up the 10-12 axis, with Frank McMillan to wear the 13 jersey.

Wingers, Toby Cousins and Tom Humphreys, and fullback, Conor Byrne, form the back three combination.

Kepueli Tuipulotu, Louie Trevett, Billy Sela, Tom Burrow, Will Owen, Ieuan Davies, Ollie Davies, Jack Kinder and Ioan Jones are the replacements.

England’s player pathway programme is a vital development tool for future international rugby; of the 36-player squad named for the Guinness Six Nations, 32 of them played England U18.

Pendlebury said: “Congratulations to every player in the matchday squad on their selection to play Wales, it is one of the truly special international matchups.

“Last week’s end result wasn’t the one we were after, but we were proud of the way the lads wore the rose and that some of the focus areas we have worked on across the season came out through the game. To score four good team tries and create further scoring opportunities in challenging conditions was excellent, we thought.

“Twelve players made their debut against France, and they’ve all gained invaluable international experience that they can now take into their clash with Wales on Sunday.”
